Eleven full circuit cameraman teams, representing eleven states, matched their skills in filming hunts in the Campbellcameras.com Wild Antelope Challenge as the 3rd leg of the 2008 Campbell Outdoor Challenge televised circuit. The event took place in the western plains near Buffalo South Dakota, Sept. 8 - 12 2008. Winning the Challenge was American Bowhunters of Kurt Wall & Laura Santucci, of Pleasantville, NY and taking second place was Team One Brick Shy of Ernie Wojtysiak and Herb Krumwiede of Johnstown, Co. This event was the 3rd event in a four event circuit making up the 2008 Campbell Cameras Proffessional Video circuit.

Teams competed in this four day event by submitting video footage of free range antelope hunts. The video was scored based upon a copyrighted scoring system from the Campbell Outdoor Challenge where teams receive points based on required increments of video footage. Placing third in the challenge was Kluckys Outdoor Adventures of John Klucky and Tom Bibeau of New Hamshire.

This event really closed the gap on the circuit points! "We had a very strong lead in the circuit going into the Antelope challenge." stated Terry Fitzgerald of Team Mill Creek. "This was a very successful event for the Campbell Outdoor Challenge," He continued,  "Now there are less than 300 points separating 1st thru 9th in the circuit standings as we prepare for the final event, The whitetail championship at Campbell Illinois Whitetails!" He concluded.

The event was made possible in part with the help of Eric Loken of Sheep Mountain Taxidermy in Camp Crook, SD, all the guides at Crooked Creek Outfitters, Saloon #3 in Buffalo, SD, Tipperary Lodge in Buffalo, SD and all the fine folks in the surrounding community ."This was a very crucial event for our teams" stated John, Host of The Campbell Outdoor Challenge. "With this being the 3rd event in a 4 event videoing circuit worth over $100,000 in cash and prizes, teams wanted to gain much needed filming points prior to the final event." He concluded

The Challenge was hosted by Crooked Creek Outfitters operated by John Hight and Matt Gilbert near Buffalo South Dakota. The Campbell Outdoor Challenge airs nationally on the Outdoor Channel Dish channel 153 and Direct TV channel 604, Maximum Adventure Network on Direct T.V. channel 608, Pursuit channel on direct TV channel 611 and various Fox Sports Networks. "Most of the viewers of wildlife hunting shows and videos have no idea how much of a challenge (hence the name of the competition) it is to successfully film a hunt for free-ranging animals in the wild," stated John Campbell, host of the Campbell Outdoor Challenge TV Show. "This competition highlights the skills of the cameramen who help bring the 'outdoors' indoors to millions of viewers."
