Timing for this years Montana Decoys Archery Whitetail qualifier couldn’t have been more perfect. With the new moon, first freeze happening this morning, and whitetails right on the edge of the pre-rut, things have really kicked into gear here at Campbell Illinois Whitetails. We have 14 teams competing in this event, lots of new teams and several veterans. Here are the teams:

On the first morning, Team Passin time took an early lead filming the harvest of a 150 class buck. That evening team X-Force and team Mers Outdoors both filmed doe hunts.

This morning was an active morning in the woods. Team Arrowhead, Gulf Coast, Pine Ridge and Passin Time all filmed successful doe hunts. Scoresheets and points standings will be posted tonight.

Team Almost Heaven had a good day with a filmed doe hunt. Several other teams had close encounters and a few missed opportunities. Today the teams will be shown their secondary area. Here are the current points standings

Team Monahan Outdoors came in tonight with a nice filmed doe hunt and everyone else is still in a holding pattern waiting for that moment to happen. Two and a half days left to go so lots can change.
Team X-Force2 had a great spot and stalk filmed doe hunt the next morning.

We had some slow days with the weather warm up we had. Over all an exciting challenge event, lots of video of some great deer. As the Sport of Filming Hunts concluded on the final morning, Team Pine Ridge had a super great buck come in and almost took the first place spot from Larry and Derrick of Team Passin Time.
