The Texas Panhandle near Clarendon, Texas was the setting April 9-12, 2007 as eleven cameraman teams, representing eight states, matched their skills in filming hunts in the Archery Interactive Technohunt Turkey Challenge as part of the 2007 Campbell Outdoor Challenge circuit. Winning the Challenge was Kings Shadow Camo Team of Jim Wiseman and Clint Player from Utah and taking second place was Team Straight Shooters of John Franklin and Bill Cheatheam of Texas. This event was the second in a four event series making up the 2007 Campbell Outdoor Challenge Video circuit.
Teams competed in this four day event by submitting video footage of wild turkey hunts. The video was scored based upon a copyrighted scoring system from the Campbell Outdoor Challenge where teams receive points based on required increments of video footage. Placing third in the challenge was Team Alli of Darrick and Alli Armstrong from Illinois. All team members enjoyed the great food and hospitality of All American Outfitter and the Coors Cowboy Club of Amarillo Texas.
The outcome of the event was very close, and it all came down to the video skills in the end. “The competition was extremely intense!”, stated John Franklin of Team Straight Shooters. “After day one having two teams successfully film two turkey hunts, we knew we were going to have to kick it up a notch if we wanted a shot at winning.” He continued “It was so close in the end that they had to go to video scores only to break the tie!” He concluded
