Hungry families will have some extra meals this Holiday Season thanks to the efforts of six videoing teams that recently competed in the Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry benefit Challenge December-8 thru 10, 2006 at the Carmi, Illinois facilities of Campbell Illinois Whitetails. The teams competed by filming muzzleloader whitetail deer hunts as part of the “Sport of Filming Hunts” which is featured on the Campbell Outdoor Challenge Television Show aired nationally on the Men’s Outdoor Channel and various Fox Sports Networks. The purpose of the filming “Challenge” was to provide venison for local Food Banks and raise awareness for the nationally based benevolent organization Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry.

The Illinois based Team Buckhammer, of Roger Roan and Dirk Schmeiderer videoed their way to victory with a score of 476 points. Second place went to H&W Trailer Sales of Van Ward and Chad Hofer with a score of 461 points, right behind the leaders. Third place went to Team Indiana FHFH of Jason Boyd and Jeremy Buncy with a score of 305 points.

"What a pleasure to host a filming Challenge for Farmers and Hunters feeding the hungry," said Campbell Outdoor Challenge host John Campbell. "By using the videoing aspect of the hunt to highlight the dedication of these teams to harvest venison to feed the hungry is awesome," he exclaimed.

The Campbell Outdoor Challenge features teams, each team consisting of a hunter and a cameraman, matching their skills in videoing hunts for various wild free ranging game animals. Videoing points are based upon a copyrighted scoring system and awarded based on acquired video increments of footage, hunt audio, video stability and overall quality.

"Congratulations go out to the Arkansas Dream Team for winning the 2006 Circuit Championship in the Sport of Filming Hunts," Campbell added. "Bob and Jay videoed competitively in each of the Challenge events and pulled off the circuit win this week-end.” he concluded.  “What an honor to earn the Championship here in the FHFH Benefit Challenge by successfully filming a doe harvest to feed the hungry,” Exclaimed Bob Wyble of the AR Dream Team. Winning the Circuit championship now has extra special meaning for us," he concluded.

"Most of the viewers of wildlife hunting shows and videos have no idea how much of a challenge (hence the name of the competition) it is to successfully film a hunt for free-ranging animals in the wild," stated John Campbell, host of the Campbell Outdoor Challenge TV Show. "This competition highlights the skills of the cameramen who help bring the 'outdoors' indoors to millions of viewers."

Special thanks to Storks Processing of Palestine Illinois for processing the venison to be donated to local food banks. Many less fortunate families will have meals this Holiday season thanks to all the teams who participated in the FHFH challenge. (FHFH) Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry is an organization dedicated to feeding the hungry throughout the United States.
