Film School Archery Whitetail Video Challenge

Participants will be allowed to submit a maximum of two filmed Whitetail Deer hunts per team for scoring, only one of which may be a buck. Teams are allowed to successfully upgrade one of their two doe harvest with a successful buck harvest. The video team may choose which of the two submitted doe video hunts that they wish to combine with the buck video to submit for scoring.

Campbell Illinois Whitetails has a management program that protects button bucks and bucks scoring less than 130 inches based on a gross Boone and Crockett scoring system. There is a $500.00 penalty for teams taking a buck scoring less than 130 inches gross B & C. Filmed hunts for bucks scoring less than 125 inches will not be eligible for scoring in this Challenge.

HUNTER SCORING:

FOR A HUNTER TO SCORE POINTS FOR EITHER A BUCK OR DOE HARVEST HE MUST MEET THESE TWO REQUIREMENTS:

     (1)     HIS CAMERAMAN PARTNER MUST HAVE SCORED A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) POINT ON                      THE HARVEST SHOT SEGMENT OR HAVE AN UNINTERRUPTED VIDEO OF THE GAME        ANIMAL’S PRE-HARVEST APPROACH UNTIL THE POINT OF THE HARVEST.

(2)          HE MUST HAVE A HARVEST SHOT MEETING NETWORK STANDARDS FOR PROPER BOW OR FIREARM HARVEST SHOT PLACEMENT.

Bucks are scored on gross Boone and Crockett scoring system plus the length of all abnormal points; this is a B&C green score rounded up to the nearest point.  Points are allocated at a rounded up score value (bucks scoring 167 2/8 gross score would count 168 points toward team score; bucks scoring 167 5/8 would also count 168 points).  CERTAIN CHALLENGE EVENTS MAY HAVE A MINIMUM B & C GROSS SCORE REQUIREMENT AND/OR POINT RESTRICTIONS FOR BUCKS HARVESTED AS DICTATED BY SELECTED COUNTRY, PROVINCE, STATE, OUTFITTER, AND/OR AREA RULES AND REGULATIONS.  Hunters taking a buck not meeting the Challenge Event’s requirements OR BUTTON BUCK, will lose all hunter and cameraman points associated with the hunting and filming of that animal, furthermore if the male deer harvested, requires under State law that it be tagged with a buck tag, then the Team will not be eligible to film another buck hunt to be submitted for this Challenge event. If the button buck qualifies under State requirements to be tagged with an antlerless only tag then the Team may still submit another buck hunt for scoring, however the button buck filmed hunt will count as one of the Team’s available doe hunts of which zero points will be allowed. Additional restrictions, if any, shall be posted with the rules and itinerary for each specific Qualifying event.

THIS CAMPBELL WHITETAIL CHALLENGE EVENT HAS A 130 POINT GROSS B&C MINIMUM WITH A 125 POINT GROSS B & C MINIMUM FOR CHALLENGE SCORING.

Does are scored at ½ point per pound live weight rounded up to the nearest even numbered pound. (Doe weighing 141 lbs. would be rounded up to 142 lbs. and contribute 71 points toward team score).  Hunter can take any legal combination of his tags with a maximum of two filmed hunts to be submitted for scoring, only one of which can be a buck harvest (One buck and one doe; or two does).  All points will accumulate toward team’s final score.
